Trout fishing at the Bregenzeraache and Weissach Vorarlberg/Austria
A 1.5 hours drive away from Zürich just across the Austrian border you reach the beautyful Bregenzer forrest.
Its got 2 main waters we use to fish, the Bregenzerache wich is a medium size river (10-20m) that offers everything a flyfisher can ask for.
Big deep running pools change with some rapids in between and the amount of fish is wicked.
Beside Rainbows and Browntrout you can catch Graylings too , they all good fighters and the average size is around 13 inches.
The other choice you have is to fish the Weissach. This is a smaller river (5-10m) that runs tru a gore. Good walk and climbing fitness is recomended to reach some of the remote and rearly fished pools in the valley.
Its got a well Rainbows, Brownies and Graylings in it and if you lucky its even possible to catch a Laketrout up there.
There is a bag limit of 4 fish per day, we recomend to make a BBQ at the river if you like.
